Despite its sweeping views of mountain peaks, aspen forests, and Telluride ski slopes, this villa’s European influences take a dramatic departure from the typical mountain rustic home.

“Villa Montagna” sits on a private, end-of-the-road site in the famous Colorado mountain town, directly on the Marmot ski trail, surrounded by spruce and aspen trees. Every last detail of the home pays homage to traditional Italian Alpine design.

The home is the product of collaboration between Bercovitz Design Architects and Overly Construction. The homeowner spent over a decade traveling throughout the European countryside, collecting containers-full of materials, fixtures, and finishes for the home. It took a meticulous five years for the villa to be designed, built, and furnished—and the result is stunning.

The property’s custom-quarried stone, tumbled brick, antique marble, centuries-old fixtures, and timber flooring are all Italian imports, offering a true European experience. And, of course, the property is not without its own Italian wine cellar.
