A Golden Fall-Inspired Flower Arrangement
Summer has a reputation as the most colorful time of year. But fall is no slouch, either!
With its deep leafy greens and abundant output of fruits and flowers, summer has a reputation as the most colorful time of year. But fall is no slouch, either! As the weather grows cool and the leaves begin to turn, plenty of vibrant blossoms remain in season for this easy fall flower arrangement inspired by a golden mountain meadow.
Best of all, you don’t need access to a wildflower field to create this bountiful bouquet! The blooms and foliage used here are all readily available at your local grocery or flower shop. And if you can’t get your hands on this exact combination of flowers, feel free to improvise. Blossoms of a similar shape and size can readily be swapped for one another to design a fall floral display that’s entirely your own!
To make this fall flower arrangement you’ll need:
- 1 column-shaped vase or pitcher
- 2 sunflower blossoms
- 4-6 stems of clover (or similar mound-shaped blossoms)
- 4-5 yellow astilbe stems 5-6 purple limonium stems
- 4-5 few eucalyptus branches
- 3 salal (lemon leaf) stems
Trim sunflowers so that one blossom will protrude immediately above the rim of the vase, and the second will protrude just above that. Cluster a stem of purple limonium on either side of the lower sunflower, then tuck 2-3 stems of astilbe around the limonium. Using taller stems of astilbe and limonium, repeat around the taller sunflower. Tuck salal into rear of arrangements and fill any holes on the sides with eucalyptus. Finally, add in clover wherever an accent of pink is desired!
