The Beaver Creek Blues Brews and BBQ Festival
This Memorial Day weekend, May 23 and 24, top barbecue chefs from around the state will join local chefs in serving up mouth-watering barbecue along with frosty microbrews at one of the largest exclusively Colorado beer tastings in the country at the 12th annual Beaver Creek Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival. A variety of music will round out the festivities, with highlights to include Dan Treanor’s Afrosippi Band featuring Erica Brown, The Delta Sonics, Dumpstaphunk and Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen.
The festival is packed with events and activities: throughout the weekend, barbecue masters will be competing for bragging rights and $10,000 in cash prizes. Dishes will be judged by a panel of professionals on Saturday, while Sunday brings voting for the People’s Choice award for Best Barbecue Vendor. Winners will be crowned Saturday and Sunday at 4:10 p.m. on the main stage in Beaver Creek Plaza.
Saturday features the kick-off of Beaver Creek’s signature Culinary Demonstration Series with barbecue demonstrations from local chefs, along with the Microbrew Festival, featuring more than 80 concoctions from over 30 Colorado breweries. Amateur pit masters can participate in the Big Green Egg Backyard BBQ Competition on Sunday, and a Kids’ Fun Zone is available for the 12-and-under crowd both weekend days.
Continuing the fun on Memorial Day, golfers can partake in the 4th annual Cut & Slice Golf Event, benefiting Can Do Multiple Sclerosis on Monday, May 25th at the Beaver Creek Golf Club.
