The 2018 Summit County Parade of Homes Winners
The 24th annual high country home tour highlighted the essence of modern mountain homes
Forget everything you know about typical mountain home design and kitschy mountain resort style. The winners of the 2018 Summit County Parade of Homes represent rustic elegance and so much more.
The Summit County Builders Association hosts the annual tour of homes to showcase the innovative designers and builders throughout the mountain towns while also hoping to inspire admirers of architecture and decor with their own projects.
The participating homes showcased the immense talent of home building professionals in Colorado's Summit County with bountiful single-family, custom-built, and newly remodeled houses on display. Spectators roamed 10 unique, exclusively selected 3,209 – 8,000+ square-foot luxury homes in the picturesque autumn foliage.
For this year’s ceremony, the homes were broken down into three separate categories according to square footage. From there, they were then evaluated by eight different sections: best exterior design and elevation, best kitchen, best master bedroom, best interior finishes, best interior furnishings, best landscaping and outdoor living space, best builder concept and workmanship and best overall home.
Mountain Living’s publisher, Holly Scott, had the pleasure of awarding Mathison Custom Builders with the Peak Award – an accolade that acknowledges excellence in home design – for their production of the sleek Breckenridge manor at 460 Timber Trail Road. The 8,000 square foot house featured seven decadent bedrooms and bathrooms, an abundance of polished entertaining spaces, and is located right off of Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 8.
