Experience Christmas and New Year’s Eve at C Lazy U Ranch
Special family memories are made by celebrating a traditional Dude Ranch holiday.
“The holiday season is a very festive time of year at C Lazy U Ranch,” says Brady Johnson, director of sales and marketing. “Our holiday-themed decorations and activities ignite the holiday spirit in guests of all ages.”
Since 1919, guests have enjoyed relaxing at the 8,500-acre ranch property. Both Christmas and New Years Eve have a minimum five-night stay for a completely immersive experience. Christmas stays run from December 22nd through the 27th, and the New Year stay is December 27th through January 1st or 2nd. “The five-day minimum gives our guests a chance to settle-in and truly enjoy the holiday cheer,” says Johnson.
“With a big tree in every guest room, and exterior lights decorating the main lodge, our visitors enjoy a truly Norman Rockwell-like ranch greeting,” Johnson notes. “Snow covers the ground each year, making the property look extra-festive.”Wood-burning fireplaces provide a warm glow for indoor activities that include cookie decorating, hot chocolate, afternoon tea, gingerbread house construction and Christmas karaoke.
“Our candy bar for kids is always a hit,” Johnson emphasizes. “Supervised counselors in the Kid’s Program can keep children entertained while adults enjoy a leisurely brunch or the mountain solitude.” Outdoor activities like hockey at the pond, horseback riding, tubing and cross-country skiing are fun for the entire family. On Christmas Eve, Santa arrives in a horse-drawn sleigh to deliver greetings and small gifts.
Celebrating the New Year includes delightful decorations and indoor-outdoor activities. On New Year’s Eve, children participate in an East Coast ball drop that enables an earlier bedtime. Adults join in the riding arena for a party with live music, delicious food and libations, and a midnight ball drop to usher in a fresh beginning.
Delectable food plays an important part in the celebration at the ranch. “Our all-inclusive stay accommodates meals. Breakfast and lunch can be enjoyed together as a family,” remarks Johnson. “Dinner can be savored with kids or as an adult-only experience if desired, offering the best of both worlds.”
Ranch Sommelier, Tony Collier, offers table-to-table wine services and private tastings for wine newbies and connoisseurs. The evening meal is often followed by relaxing in front of the tree in guest rooms, allowing privacy for established family traditions.
“Our C Lazy U Ranch holiday stays allow guests to slow down and really enjoy the entire experience without the hassle of housework, washing dishes and keeping everyone entertained,” says Johnson. “It’s an opportunity to devote complete attention to family—and it often becomes a treasured yearly experience.”
