Table for Two: A Study in Contrasts
Mimi London's Channel Island Table
For 40 years, Los Angeles-based Mimi London has produced one-of-a-kind furnishings with Mother Nature in mind. With Mark Boone at the helm, the company specializes in custom-made tables, chairs, beds and lamps using reclaimed, fallen and dead wood. As one of about 300 pieces in the Mimi London collection, the Channel Island Table is a balanced accent piece for any mountain-modern living space.
Walnut slabs are handcut from reclaimed logs found in a century-old orchard near Santa Barbara, sanded, wax-finished and adorned with fin-like steel or lucite feet. The final product is rugged and durable with a contemporary flair, a distinct look the company refers to as “relaxed-shoulder.”
