Mountain News: Disney Granddaughter Buys Steamboat Ranch
Steamboat Springs, Colorado just got a little more animated. Walt Disney’s granddaughter has purchased the historic, 490-acre May-Wood River Ranch property five miles north of Steamboat Springs for $11.25 million.
The scenic ranch, on the banks of the trout-rich Elk River, features numerous structures, including two historic cabins, an outdoor equestrian arena, two barns, various sheds and outbuildings. The main house, called the “Bridge House,” offers 2,674 square feet of living space, with four bedrooms and four baths plus a river rock fireplace and rustic barn wood ceilings.
According to local sources, the new owner plans to enjoy the ranch with her horses. And those will be some happy horses—a leasing agreement for 7,500 acres of adjacent Routt National Forest land comes with the deal.
