A Tub Worth the Splurge

Soak it up in Native Trails' Aspen tub

In 1996, before refined global design was trendy and “sustainable” was a buzzword, Naomi Neilson founded kitchen-and-bath company Native Trails. With fair trade practices and artisan tradition at the forefront, Native Trails helped introduce copper as a staple material in the home with its hand-hammered recycled copper sinks crafted by fair trade artisans in central Mexico.

In the 20-plus years since, the company has grown to include a range of sustainably crafted goods for the whole home, ranging from concrete kitchen sinks to decorative tile. On our wish list is the Aspen tub—and not just because it’s named after one of our favorite ski destinations. Its modern oval form and earthy hammered-copper finish add a layer of luxury to bath time.
