A Statement-Making Table
David Stine's walnut slab dining table is something to see
A fourth-generation craftsman, David Stine creates wood-slab tables, desks, beds and benches that embrace their flaws. His custom creations have cracks, scars, blemishes and bug damage that not only make each piece distinct but also tell a story. “Every piece is as unique as the customer who gets it and as unique as the tree from which it came,” he says.
Beginning with trees harvested from his family’s 500 wooded acres in rural Illinois, the slabs are cut and milled on site and then finished to a client’s specifications. From oversized live-edge walnut dining tables with industrial steel legs to rustic cherry headboards with bowtie key detailing, each piece is one of a kind and built to last a lifetime.
