2017 Strings Music Festival

Strings Music Festival celebrates 30 years of fabulous music and concerts in Steamboat Springs with its 2017 season! To celebrate this momentous occasion, the festival will provide nearly 60 events throughout the summer, including 29 concerts at the pavilion, the free Music on the Green events, yoga in Strings Park, and musical talks at the library.

“Strings is so excited to continue the rich tradition of bringing incredible music and programs to Steamboat Springs. These three decades have brought growth, change, and excitement. We feel lucky to be surrounded by such a supportive community and as we mark our 30th year, we are pleased to renew our commitment to enriching the lives of music lovers in the Yampa Valley,” says Strings Music Festival Executive Director, Elissa Greene.

The 2017 season will include 12 exciting classical performances featuring principal players and concertmasters from leading orchestras across the nation. In addition, Strings will infuse its summer festival with popular, contemporary music. Termed Different Tempo, these shows bring world-class artists to perform bluegrass, country, blues, jazz, and rock in the String Pavilion.

Mandy Harvey
Mandy Harvey is a deaf American singer-songwriter. A vocal music education major at Colorado State University, Mandy lost her hearing at age eighteen due to a neurological disorder. She pursued several career options but returned to music in 2008. She quickly became a regular performer at Jay's Bistro in Fort Collins before branching out to having regular concerts at Dazzle Jazz Lounge in Denver, voted one of the top 100 Jazz venues in the world. Though her hearing loss is profound, her timing, pitch and passion are perfect. With support from friends, family, and her faith, Mandy continues to find joy in the music. Mandy will also be featured on this season of America's Got Talent!

Grab the whole family and head to a couple of shows designed to delight both parents and children, featuring sophisticated musicians and storytellers. This season’s family shows will showcase the work of David Gonzalez in Sleeping Beauty and highlight the incredible local talent of Small Town World.
