Founder of Jonathan L Foote AIA, Architects and Planners (now JLF Architects), Jonathan L. Foote will forever be an influential figure in Mountain West architecture and design. His ability to listen to the land with deep reverence for regional history, vernacular forms, handcrafted materials and heritage building techniques has created a legacy that continues despite his passing.

In JLF Architect’s recent Anvil blog post commemorating Foote, the team notes, “At JLF, we’ve all been touched by him. He has formed and shaped where we’ve been…and where we’re headed.” Co-founder Paul Bertelli shares, “Jonathan left an extraordinary legacy.” Owner Logan Leachman says, “I carry Jon’s mentorship with me to this day,” and owner John Lauman reveres Foote as “one of a kind, who changed the landscape forever.”

At Mountain Living, we honor the profound impact of Foote and his extraordinary work over nearly 50 years.
