The newest wallcoverings glisten with an ancient Japanese process that hand-applies precious metal

Golden Geometry Known for its richly textured, nature-inspired specialty wallcoverings, Phillip Jeffries sets a literal gold standard with its newest lines, created in a small family-owned mill in Japan through a century-old process of hand-stenciling with gold, silver and pewter leaf. The boldly scaled Gilded Ascent, shown here in Gold Rising, offers serene geometry on a metallic ground. Available to the trade.

Glamorous blocks of gold leaf, applied by artisans with hashi (chopsticks), highlight real wood veneer to create the Gilded Grid wallcoverings. Sealed with a resin finish, the small-scale construct is wipeable and resists rusting and oxidation.
