Out With the Garden Gnomes
... and in with the Zen
Michael Zimber was first captivated by the beauty of stone and water in the late 1970s, when he worked as a rock-climbing and river-rafting guide in Colorado. Now the owner of Stone Forest in New Mexico, Zimber and his team combine these natural elements to create fountains, birdbaths, sinks and bathtubs inspired by Japanese design. New this spring, the 24 inch Rippled Sphere Fountain is a 650-pound fount hand-carved from a single block of granite. Water cascades over saw-cut fissures for an eye-catching rippled pattern and the soothing sound of rainfall. Also available in 20” diameter, $525-$895.
