Networking by Design in Jackson Hole
Last week, Mountain Living hosted a “Networking by Design” event in Jackson at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. These events are wonderful opportunities for me and other magazine staff to meet architects, designers, artisans and artists in town. We travel to each of our markets, with upcoming events to be held in Park City, Lake Tahoe and Vail. The Wolf of Main Street by David Yarrow
Jackson was booming with people in town for the Jackson Hole Rendezvous celebration with Zac Brown Band. I had a chance to visit the David Yarrow exhibit at WRJ Design—the exhibit is on display until April 14, 2017, so check it out soon. The images are astounding, and I love the stories behind the photos, such as the bar in a Montana ghost town where Yarrow asked the bartender if it would be okay if he brought in a wolf to walk down the bar. And the bartender said yes! Seems like a joke punchline: A man walks into the bar with a wolf…
I had lunch with Allison Merritt, director of the Western Design Conference, at the new Lotus restaurant. The food is delicious, fresh organic fare and the restaurant is a hip, two-story spacious design, so popular that there was a line waiting to be seated at 1:30 when we left.
I skied at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort one day and snow-shoed in Grand Teton National Park another. The sun was shining, and it was a spectacular day to take a walk in the park.
