Mark Your Calendar for the 2015 Great Rubber Duck Race

750 rubber ducks will "swim" to the finish in three races near the Blue River in Breckenridge

Join The Summit Foundation and thousands of spectators on Saturday, September 5th near the Blue River in Breckenridge to enjoy the 28th Annual Great Rubber Duck Race sponsored by Breckenridge Grand Vacations.

The Hudson Auto Source Kids Duck Dash will kick-off the three duck races at 1:00 p.m., as 750 ducks are dropped by Red, White, and Blue Fire from the Adams Street Bridge into the Blue River.  More than 40 prizes for the Kids Race are being donated by Peak-A-Boo Toys and Vail Resorts Epic Promise, among others.

The second of the three races begins at 2:00 pm from Main Street Station. FirstBank of Summit County is sponsoring this Business Battle Duck Race, where little yellow swimmers purchased by local organizations and businesses will compete for a private cat-ski trip, as well as additional group-oriented prizes.  Be sure to check out the decorated Business Battle Ducks on display around the Riverwalk Center.  You will be amazed at the creativity!

And finally at 3:00 pm, the Breckenridge Grand Vacations Great Rubber Duck Race will send nearly 10,000 little quackers from Main Street Station streaming for the finish line at the Riverwalk Center. Fabulous prizes will be awarded to a minimum of the top 50 ducks, including a week-long vacation at a destination chosen by the winner.

Blue River Plaza will be filled with family friendly activities all day in our Duck Village, including face-painting, kids amusements, and delicious Higgles Ice Cream!

Ducks may be adopted online at summitfoundation.org or at various locations around Summit County. Thousands of dollars in prizes will be awardedeven a prize for the slowest duck!

And, this year, in support of the Annual Great Rubber Duck Race, The Summit Foundation and Breckenridge Creative Arts are teaming up to present QUACK: An Artful Duck Exhibition, a public art project displayed in outdoor spaces throughout Summit County, from August 10 through September 30.
