Highlights of the 2016 Summer Calendar in Breckenridge

The town of Breckenridge is the place to be for unique artistic and cultural events for the summer, courtesy of BreckCreate. Highlights of the summer event calendar include:

July 13:
Beethoven Symphony No. 8
at Riverwalk Center- The National Repertory Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s light and cheerful Symphony No. 8. Tickets-Range from $7-$40. Click here to purchase your ticket

July 14:
Makeshift: A Makers’ Night
at Breckenridge Arts District Campus. Makeshift is a monthly makers’ night for adults featuring workshops with guest makers and other DIY-inspired activities. Admission is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. Questions? Call 970-453-3364

July 21:
BREW: Ideas + Creation Lab at Old Masonic Hall, a salon series that provides thought-provoking discussion for and among creative professionals. This topic is The Power of Art of Heal, with Artist and Art Therapist Kym Allison talking about art as a healing tool. Admission is free!

Now-July 24:
Chicago at Breckenridge Theater-Set in the razzle-dazzle, roaring twenties in Chicago, Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover, and seeks to capitalize on pretrial publicity for the sake of acquittal and stage careers. Now-July 24:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at Breckenridge Theater, Adapted from C.S. Lewis, this inventive and highly theatrical version of the classic story is perfect for ages 5 and up! Tickets: Online, $11; Box Office, $13. Click here to purchase your ticket!

August 5:
Wild About Colorado Art Show & Sale @ Carter Park-Part of Wild About Colorado, an annual celebration of wildflowers, wildlife and wild lands in Summit County. Tickets are $15. Questions? Call 970-453-3875

August 12-21:
Breckenridge International Festival of Arts. From a human cannonball and 18-foot stilt-walking dinosaurs to public radio storytellers and swarms of colorful butterflies, the Festival offers an exhilarating program of extraordinary events in spectacular places and spaces across Breckenridge, Colorado. Click here for tickets and information.

Established in 2014, Breckenridge Creative Arts (BCA)—or BreckCreate for short—was developed by the Town of Breckenridge to support and promote arts, culture and creative experiences throughout Breckenridge. This multidisciplinary nonprofit organization is responsible for the successful management of a series of programs, properties and partnerships that collectively animate and populate a cultural corridor in the heart of downtown Breckenridge.
