Gourmet on Gore Offers Tastes for Every Palate
Want to spend Labor Day weekend in a picturesque mountain setting while sampling the finest culinary delights that Vail has to offer? Gourmet on Gore is an open-air tasting event that lets visitors try a range of offerings, from tasty bites to sumptuous sips, crafted by the town’s best chefs and restaurants.
The 10th year of the festival kicks off on Friday night with a tasting tour that takes guests to some of the finest restaurants and hotspots in Vail. Each location includes a signature beverage, as well as savory hors d’oeuvres.
The weekend continues with three days of open-air tasting. From 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, festivalgoers can stroll through the heart of Vail Village, sampling delicious plates prepared by local culinary masters, while they sip on perfectly paired wines, beers and spirits. When you’ve eaten your fill, relax and enjoy the surroundings with live jazz music.
For families visiting the festival, there is also a special Kids’ Culinary Corner, with activities, crafts and fun, just for kids.
The festival concludes with Brunch on Bridge Street, on Monday, September 7 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, a final opportunity for visitors to taste some of Vail’s finest culinary offerings, paired with fresh Mimosas and savory Bloody Marys.
Local artist and festival veteran Carrie Fell created one-of-a-kind artwork to capture the spirit of the event. Her piece “Amuse Bouche” will be featured on the posters for this year’s festival.
The festival takes place over Labor Day weekend, from Friday, September 4 to Monday, September 7, 2015. Tickets for Friday night’s tasting tour are $75. The open-air tastings are no-cost admission, and pay as you go for bites and pours. For more information and to purchase tickets for the Tasting Tour, visit gourmetongore.com.
