Find Family-Friendly Luxury at Montage Deer Valley
The Utah resort offers a range of festive activities to celebrate the holiday season in style
From a cookie and ornament decorating class to an Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt, one luxury alpine resort welcomes travelers of all ages to experience all the winter wonder the west has to offer this holiday season.
Montage Deer Valley, located across the Colorado-Utah border in Park City, is touted as an authentic yet elegant mountain getaway. It provides ski-in/ski-out access to one of the region’s premier ski resorts, as well as a 35,000-square-foot spa, inspired dining and a wide range of year-round activities.
This holiday season, it has a variety of festive, family-friendly activities on tap.
On Thanksgiving Day, football fans can meet at Daly’s Pub & Rec to watch the Thanksgiving NFL games while enjoying bowling and gourmet food. Guests can also receive a grab-and-go turkey dinner, which serves up to 8 people and can be enjoyed in-suite or at the Thanksgiving Buffet at Apex.
In addition, families can gather for a cookie decorating class to become a “certified Montage cookie artist” and enjoy a complimentary family photo shoot against the backdrop of the picturesque Wasatch Mountains.
For the little ones, families can also search for Santa’s helpers located throughout the resort during the Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt. While searching for clues throughout the resort, guests are invited to stop by the “Bowl a Turkey” bowling game; the Annual Turkey Shoot, a turkey-themed archery lesson; and an Ornament Decorating class — all happening the day after Thanksgiving.
On Saturday, Nov. 27, guests can experience the 8th Annual Tree Lighting featuring holiday cookies, a gourmet hot chocolate bar and live entertainment. Families can also attend a gingerbread house decorating experience and a special reading of “Monty’s First Winter” in the Empire Lounge.
With Thanksgiving in the past and Christmas coming up fast, Montage Deer Valley will also offer more Christmas-themed special activities throughout the month of December.
On Christmas Eve, families can head to the 5th floor salon, doubling as Santa’s Workshop, for the annual reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Children can decorate cookies, write their own letters to Santa and go on a twilight search of the sky for Santa’s sleigh.
Parents can also surprise their children with a holiday stocking delivery, featuring a hand-crafted stocking filled with gourmet candy and authentic gifts, available to be delivered to the room and carefully placed underneath the fireplace.
From Dec. 27-30, guests in search of a winter wonderland experience can partake in family tubing nights, including a ride on a magic carpet and other adventures at Powder Park.
Guests can ring in the new year with a choice of New Year’s Eve Dinners including a six-course prix fixe menu at Apex and sushi at Yama Sushi. Vista Lounge will welcome travelers with crafted cocktails and artisanal food from mid-afternoon to mid-evening before transforming to celebrate the arrival of 2022 with live music and a balloon-drop at midnight.
Children are invited to bid adieu to 2021 courtesy of Paintbox’s New Year’s Eve Celebration, which will offer a Winter Wonderland dinner party for the little ones, complete with entertainment, arts and crafts, face painting, laser tag, video games and a holiday film.
