A Unique Interactive Art Experience at CherryArts Festival at Stanley
CherryArts Festival at Stanley, produced by the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, will showcase 75 nationally juried artists during the three-day event at Stanley Marketplace. The Festival takes place October 23, 24, and 25.
In a space that is bursting with creativity, the artists and their artwork will be the focal point of the weekend. Each artist was carefully chosen through a blind-jury process for his or her unique flavor that complements the urban and innovative Stanley Marketplace. Because of this, visitors can expect the same quality of art that they love to enjoy every summer at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival.
In addition to the 75 national juried artists, internationally renowned, interactive sculptor Jen Lewin will also showcase her piece, Chandelier Harp. Lewin utilizes light, sound and motion to create an interactive experience that anyone can enjoy. The Chandelier Harp, is an instrument that is played by passing an arm, leg or any part of the body through the low voltage lasers that shine to the ground.
Lewin challenges the traditional art exhibition experience by creating interactive pieces that are focused on public use. Her goal is for the entire community to use and enjoy her artwork. Lewin and her work have been featured at events like Burning Man and Vivid Sydney, while she has had solo exhibitions in the United States, Portugal, and London. In addition to the Chandelier Harp, her portfolio includes the Arc Harp, the Edison Cloud, and the Water Tree, among many others. Learn more about Jen and her artwork by visiting her website.
In addition to art, visitors can also enjoy culinary demonstrations, family friendly activities and hard-hat tours throughout the Festival weekend. Visitors can experience the vision for Stanley Marketplace as it comes together come right in front of their eyes.
Stanley Marketplace, formerly known as Stanley Aviation, is an exciting new community-inspired hub. Starting in early 2016, people will be able to enjoy multiple food options from independently owned businesses for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a beer hall run by Kevin Taylor. There will also be several fitness options, including Endorphin and Kindness. This will be a great space for Aurora and Stapleton residents to relax and enjoy themselves.
