Carefully designed with durable yet luxurious materials, this ski condo rental in Big Sky is the perfect getaway for families and friends to spend a winter retreat. Not only did the owner want the condo to encompass mountain luxury, but they also wanted the condo to be durable enough to withstand winter wear from its future guests. Selecting the materials for this made-to-last ski condo meant incorporating high-end, durable elements throughout the space. From kitchen countertops to bathroom tile, the condo’s essential materials were carefully selected to ensure optimum longevity and wearability.

When selecting the kitchen countertops, it was important to choose a stone that would last and also complement the condo’s mountain charm. One of the main features of the condo is the spacious kitchen, and we wanted to make sure the countertops were carefully selected with the condo’s purpose in mind. Quartzite, known for its longevity, strength and scratch resistance, was selected to ensure true sustainability. Quartzite is relatively low-maintenance, making it the perfect stone for group gatherings or cooking big family dinners. It is important to keep the environment in mind when choosing a material for countertops. For example, a more porous stone such as concrete is not suitable for families with young kids because it chips easily, cracks over time and is hard to clean. The kitchen’s finishing touch was the ceramic tile backsplash, a gradient grey was selected to tie the gathering space together while adding a touch of modern elegance.

Throughout the condo’s two guest bathrooms, marble was selected for the countertops for added luxury and poise. The condo’s master bathroom counter features the same durable quartzite used in the kitchen and was finished with a porcelain lined shower. After a long day on the chilly slopes, this porcelain tiled shower certainly adds warmth and luxury to anyone’s evening.
