A Mountain Film Festival for One & All
Check out what's new at the 2019 Crested Butte Film Festival
Through the life-changing power of film, the Crested Butte Film Festival fosters artistic creativity and inspires connection, cultural awareness, and social action.
The annual festival features 100 quality international screenings, walkable venues, stimulating discussions, and authentic community connections from September 26 – 29, 2019.

The four-day event draws over 950 attendees to 4,000 film viewings at two venues in Crested Butte, Colorado. Our audience may include a 75-year-old visitor from Stockholm or a family from Boulder, but all are exposed to culturally rich and educational film screenings, panels with filmmakers, and opportunities for a powerful shared experience. This event is about engaging with film and each other.

Beyond the Screen
Engage local and international attendees in the festival through the “Beyond the Screen” experiences. New this year will include a group hike with YETI and a guided photography hike and tips session with world-renowned photographer Xavier Fane in the glorious aspen groves surrounding Crested Butte.

Mercantile at CBFF
Your wait for swag is finally over! This year at CBFF you can get curated goods at our new Mercantile store, located near the Box Office at the brand new Center for the Arts, including custom YETI mugs, festival wear, jewelry, home goods, and the always needed trucker hat to remember your trip.
Women & Film
Representation matters. CBFF is working to end the gender parity gap by giving women a platform to screen their work and add their voice to the discussion. At the 2018 festival, 43 out of 110 films screened were made by women. In addition to unique screenings, you won’t want to miss the Women + Film networking event – providing a networking opportunity for visiting female filmmakers and attendees, connecting you and helping to elevate your work with industry support.

Youth Film Program
The program is provided free of charge to anyone 18 years old and younger and entertains, educates, and inspires: the diverse lineup ignites imaginations and brings awareness to worlds that may otherwise go unexplored. Beyond the Screen will provide hands-on activities to deepen the connection with the films and filmmakers, allowing children to engage in activities with the filmmakers in attendance.
Curated Guides
Get to know the town and the fun things to do outside of the films. At the Crested Butte Film Festival, we put together Curated Guides for various types of travelers (the Cinephile, the Adventurer, Families, and so on) that include recommendations for films, parties, eats, lodging, and adventures.
