A Bozeman Home Built For Holiday Gatherings
With expansive views of Gallatin Valley and Bridger Range, this couple’s mountain modern retreat is warm and cozy while accommodating a crowd.

Excited about its expansive views as well as the proximity to family, these empty-nesters chose a gorgeous piece of property in the Triple Tree subdivision of Bozeman, Montana, for their new mountain retreat. With warm, natural materials, an abundance of natural light, and plenty of gathering spaces as well as private hideaways, the result is a stunning home that acts both as a cozy private abode and the perfect spot for family holiday gatherings.
Situated on just over two-and-a-half acres, the home’s elevated and sloping site allows for a walkout lower level, great views across the valley, and close access to mountain trails. The privacy afforded by the large site and location inspired the home’s layout, as well as its use of large windows and outdoor living spaces—all architectural features that tie the interior to the exterior.
A covered porch over the south-facing entryway warmly welcomes the owners and their guests. Rustic reclaimed timbers paired with clean lines make a mountain-modern statement that echoes throughout the home’s design.
The home is anchored around the great room and its commanding fireplace, while large windows frame spectacular view across the Gallatin Valley to the Bridger Range. While the majority of the views come from the north, a showstopping skylight floods the space with additional natural light, no matter the time of day. Lying on the couch and watching the clouds pass overheard is one of the owners’ favorite ways to unwind.
An open layout allows an intuitive flow between the great room, kitchen, and dining areas, allowing for extended holiday seating once family and friends arrive.
Off the great room and tying to the master bedroom is a large covered patio complete with a fireplace. In the evenings, the fireplace warms this outdoor living space, providing the perfect spot for sunset-watching while remaining cozy and comfortable.
The open master suite is a haven for the owners and features a large walk-in closet, custom oak cabinetry, and an expansive shower.
The home’s lower level boasts two guest bedrooms, one of which is a bunkroom whose bunks were built by the owner, a rec room with a pool table and built-in bar, a kids’ playroom, and a fun bathroom with custom concrete sinks—the perfect suite of amenities for hosting festive overnight gatherings.
