Whimsical LED Lighting to Illuminate Your Mountain Home This Winter
Award-winning German designer Konstantin Grcic creates magic with the Noctambule pendant for Flos.
LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE Deceptively simple, German designer Konstantin Grcic’s award-winning Noctambule pendant’s totemic whimsy conjures both the interlocking genius of Lego and the nostalgic charm of fireflies in Mason jars. Created for pioneering global lighting brand Flos—founded in Italy in the 1960s and known for such iconic lamps as the Arco and Philippe Starck’s Miss Sissi—the Noctambule punctuates modular handblown glass cylinders with LED rings to create an ethereal column of light.
Named for the French word for night owl, the lamp encapsulates the concept of something invisible by day that comes into its own at nightfall—making it our celebration-of-light pick to illuminate mountain homes this winter. “I don’t want anyone who sees the lamp to think about how it works,” says Grcic. “I want them to see magic.” Noctambule Suspension, available in multiple variations, from $5,010.
As seen in Mountain Living’s January/February 2026 issue.
