2018 In Review
As we wrap up the year, I look back on some of my favorite trips
As we wrap up 2018, I’m looking back on some of my favorite trips:
Visiting the new Base Village in Snowmass with a preview tour and the grand opening was a thrill–the new spot is a game changer for Snowmass. I look forward to staying at the new Limelight this season, and recently, the Viceroy was named number one ski hotel in the U.S. by USA Today. Well deserved!
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is one of my favorite slopes and I enjoyed visiting the swanky Caldera House followed by lunch at Old Yellowstone.
I’ve been to Sun Valley many times, but this was my first time to ski there, and I loved it!
On a trip to Park City, I went snowshoeing in the beautiful Canyons, a behind the scenes tour of some new home projects there.

In Yosemite, walking through the Sequoias was magical. And a guided hike to a swimming hole called Jackson Hole was a highlight of the trip.
Each year I look forward to September in Jackson with the Western Design Conference and Fall Arts Festival sponsored by Mountain Living. And I always try to make time for bike ride on the path in Grand Teton National Park, my favorite place to ride.

Horseback riding in the snow at the gorgeous Triple Creek Ranch is one of the most memorable experiences of the year.
It was a blast to celebrate in Jackson with the Home of the Year Winners, WRJ Associates, Carney Logan Burke Architects, Teton Heritage Builders and Verdone Landscape Architecture. The party at the Snake River Sporting Club brought down the house.

What fun to go to Billings, Montana for Stapleton Gallery’s show “Trophy Room.” I love this gallery and its curated approach to shows.
I haven’t been cross country skiing at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in years and it has gone from a quaint log cabin lodge, to a gorgeous, luxurious resort—all within a short drive from Denver. The cabins, lodge, ski trails, spa and restaurants make it a getaway that I will look forward to visiting again soon.
As the 2018 closes, the party held by John Brooks Incorporated to celebrate their 25th Anniversary was hands down, the Party of the Year. Held at the Denver Art Museum during the Dior show, it was an event to remember.
Wishing our readers at Mountain Living a happy and healthy 2019 full of mountain adventures!
