What to Expect at the 2016 Crested Butte Wine & Food Festival

The Crested Butte Wine & Food Festival is an annual celebration of culinary and beverage excellence in the gorgeous Colorado mountain town. Striving to create a wine and culinary festival that complements the array of amazing offerings in Crested Butte and Mt Crested Butte, this festival is the perfect excuse to visit this scenic and captivating area.

Featuring a selection of seminars, fine dining winemaker dinners, and more, this weekend has something for everyone. The signature event, the Grand Tasting, presents over 500 select wines from 25 wineries and distributors, food demonstrations, and more.

The Center for the Arts is pleased to partner with Larimer Associates to bring this exceptional event to the Upper East River Valley.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 2016 FESTIVAL INCLUDE:

July 28

Take a Hike!, an intermediate/advanced wine hike and picnic lunch starting at 8 am with food provided by Chef Ashley Odom, owner of Feast & Merriment. Wine will be provided by Guarachi Wine Partners.

Play a bit of croquet at the Center for the Arts while participating in an interactive wine tasting lead by Sommelier Kathryn LaTour at the Croquet & Wine Festival Kick-Off from 2-4 pm

Join local artists Becky Chappell and Mary Tuck as they lead participants through an exciting step-by-step painting class accompanied by red wine pairings. Cheese and crackers will be served. Absolutely no painting or drawing experience is necessary!

Wrap up the evening with the Winemaker Dinner, featuring food creations by Chef Dana Zobs, Chef Jennifer Jasinksi, and Chef Dana Rodriguez, followed by a screening of City of Gold at the Center for the Arts.

July 29

Join the wine conversation by attend the Riedel Glassware: Taste the Difference, The Oaking of Wine, Spanish Wines: Why They’re so Hot Right Now, and Weed & Wine seminars.

Feast on delicious food at the Farm to Table Winemaker Dinner at a private residence, with food and wine provided by an esteemed group of culinary and wine specialists. See the full list here!

July 30

Don’t miss the Ghostoric Walk of the Town, a walking history of Crested Butte’s famous haunts and ghost sightings with lunch at Coal Creek Grill and wine from Hook & Ladder Vineyards and Winery.

Get your tickets for the Grand Tasting, an event featuring over 500 wines from 25 wineries and distributors, music from Free the Honey band members Katherine Taylor and Lizzie Plotkin, and photobooth fun!

July 31

Start your day at a private residence for the Bursting with Bubbles Brunch with Chef Chris Sullivan and Sommelier Darin Thorn.

Conclude the festival weekend with the A Grand Finale: Extravagant Wines & Exquisite Food at Soupcon featuring a five-course menu and wine selections from Maisons Marques & Domaines.
