Western Wear With Flair
Ditch the ski boots for a pair of hand-crafted Lucchese leather boots
The iconic western wear lifestyle brand Lucchese has announced its first location in a ski town— Telluride! The store will open in April of 2022 in the lobby of the Madeline Hotel and Residences. The brand offers everything from footwear and apparel to housewares and accessories. In addition to the Denver Union Station locale, this will be the second Colorado retail store.
The Telluride store will include the made-in-Texas feel familiar to other Lucchese stores, with some added Colorado-centric classic design motifs, such as antlers, deer hides and western patterns exclusive to Telluride and Denver. A custom bench made from juniper wood by local artist David Guffey will offer a place for guests to remove their ski boots and put on their Lucchese boots. The store will carry men’s and women’s boots, apparel, travel bags, candles, home accessories and more.
Since 1883, Lucchese has continued to innovate their process. The introduction of the proprietary “twisted-cone last,” a design that is wider at the ball of the foot, tapering at the toe, created a premium fit that is incomparable. The use of fine leathers and finishes place Lucchese as the pinnacle Western lifestyle brand. Proudly manufactured in El Paso, Texas, Lucchese continues to use time-honored bootmaking techniques.
Each pair of boots goes through a tedious process starting with a detailed leather selection, followed by several quality checks. The boots pass through a number of different hands before being finalized. The creation of an individual pair remains to be on its own timeline, each receiving immense attention to detail.
As Lucchese continues to expand offerings into apparel and accessories, its boots remain to be a best-selling piece. For women, tall boots are the new trending style, especially Priscilla in Glitz Cream. For men, it varies much more based on silhouette or material. For first-time boot shoppers, the Sunset Roper is a fan favorite.
