With its line of pieces inspired by the minimalistic utility of Scandinavian design, the online home goods retailer Lulu and Georgia is proving that brevity really is the soul of wit — and charm, too.

Founded in 2012 by Sara Sugarman, the Los Angeles-based company has garnered a reputation for both its vintage vibes and cutting-edge class. It’s named after Sugarman’s grandfather, Lou, and father, George. Lou Sugarman was the founder of the famed custom-flooring operation Decorative Carpets; coming from a long line of pioneers in the interior design industry, Lulu and Georgia was the natural next step for someone with Sugarman’s experience and eye.

Lulu and Georgia’s items are built using woods like mango, pine and oak, and constructed in a way that pays homage to the clean lines and soft hues that make Scandinavian furniture both functional and inviting.
