Paris in Soho
Feast your eyes on New York's dreamy Roman and Williams Guild and La Mercerie Café.
Although I often travel to destinations in the Rocky Mountain West, several times a year I go to NYC to scout new furniture lines, products and showrooms. My favorite new discovery is the Roman and Williams Guild and La Mercerie Café. This showroom/café/flower shop offers all of my favorite things: beautiful home furnishings, gorgeous flowers, delectable food and gorgeous books in one location.

In December 2017, Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, the founders of acclaimed Roman and Williams Building and Interiors, opened the GUILD, a 7000-square foot flagship store in Soho on Howard Street.

The inviting store carries a line of furniture, lighting, and accessories designed by the owners. These looks translate beautifully to mountain modern homes.

The aroma of fresh flowers from local botanical savant Emily Thompson greets you when you walk in the door.

La Mercerie, designed by Standefer and Alesch, opened for full service in April 2018 with Chef Marie-Aude Rose at the helm. When you sit on one of the aqua velvet banquettes, you would swear you are in Paris. A couple sitting at the table next to me were speaking French.

All of the service items at La Mercerie are for sale, and a card with hand drawn illustrations on each table shows product availability and pricing.

The Guild is at the top of my list when visiting NYC, an oasis in the city. Hope you enjoy this visual treat!
