Growing up in Wyoming as an Ernest Hemingway enthusiast, Worden had always felt drawn to his stories about hunting and fishing. It wasn’t until one fateful day she came across collected Hemingway letters at a Sheridan library book sale that revealed his time in the small town. Years later, through extensive research, she began to uncover the summers he spent in Sheridan and Big Horn Wyoming with his second wife Pauline.

In her interview, Worden also highlights her well-loved annual Left Bank Writers Retreat she hosts every summer in Paris. For a week, eight-selected writers write in parks during the mornings where Hemingway spent time, go to lunch at his favorite restaurants and go to locations that were important to him.
