Friday Favorite: A Chair We Love

Today, we’ve been doing some furniture “shopping” for our May/June Remodeling issue. One of our stops was the Casamidy website, where we came across a chair we love so much, we just had to share it with you.

It’s called the Opera chair, and we just love its spare metal frame, which comes in a variety of colors and finishes to suit most any style. But what struck us most is the upholstery on the chair pictured here.

So often, we think we have to choose just one fabric to cover a piece of furniture. But here’s a perfect example of what thinking outside the box can do. The seat and back show off a pattern that looks a lot like woven leather. The edges of the seat and arms are a bright cherry red, and the sides of the cushion are covered in yet another pattern. On paper it may sound a bit busy, but in real life it’s perfection, don’t you think?
