A deep love of Colorado and its wide-open landscapes shaped the vision for this remarkable residence, aptly named Vista Ridge. Designed to blur the boundaries between indoors and out, the home offers an ever-changing connection to its surroundings, revealing new experiences with every shift in weather and season.

Boulder architect Steve Perce explains how the home’s site shaped the design: “The long, flat site at the edge of a bluff allowed us to configure the home into multiple structures connected by various and unique elements: a bridge, an interior courtyard and covered outdoor spaces. The long rooflines run parallel to the edge of the bluff, helping the home connect to the wider geography of the site.”

Windows and doors play an essential role in that relationship. With minimal sightlines, clean detailing and expansive glass options, the Marvin Modern collection complements the contemporary architecture while keeping the landscape firmly in focus. Because the products were designed to work together, the team could create cohesive window and door compositions with consistent detailing that unifies the home’s distinct structures.

Taking the design to the next level, Marvin Connected Home automated products add another layer of comfort and convenience. “We connected the automated windows with the whole-home automation system and coordinated that with the heating and cooling system,” explains Perce. “The tall-ceiling spaces can now ventilate much more easily at the touch of a button.”

Altogether, the architecture, glazing and technology create a residence that feels inseparable from its setting. The result reflects an exceptional combination of place and partnership. As Builder Ryan Wither notes, “The site and the team were very special.” Whether crossing the bridge, gathering in the courtyard or opening the windows to a mountain breeze, the homeowners can experience the landscape they love throughout the year.
