2017 Mountain Living Designer Show House
Designers showcased their talents in the 2017 Mountain Living Designer Show House, and I was overwhelmed by the quality of the structure and the rooms installed inside—all created in just a few short days before the show.
EXTERIOR:
B&B Builders
B&B Builders create an actual structure from rustic barn wood on the Western Design Conference floor, complete with an inviting entrance, front patio and even windows installed. It’s a beautiful building—showcasing B&B Builders’ talents and providing a wonderful showcase for the designers’ work inside.
DINING ROOM:
Kibler & Kirch, Winner Best Interior Design
Judging the Show House along with an experienced group of colleagues proved challenging due to the level of design talent; however, Kibler & Kirch stole the show with their dining room, which won an award for Best Interior Design, sponsored by Organic Looms. The room’s centerpiece was a grand English-made table. A fireplace and impressive art collection, including work by Kevin Red Star, contributed to the “wow” factor of this room.

Old Hickory
This furniture company is celebrating 120 years of furniture making and recently teamed up with designers at Kibler & Kirch on some fresh new furniture concepts.
HEARTH ROOM STUDY:
Dallas Lyon Interiors
Dallas Lyon Interiors created a hearth-room study with a red, white and blue color scheme and rock-and-roll flair.
GREAT ROOM:
Harker Design
The Western-influenced design of the inviting Great Room included clean lines and textured elements.
MASTER BEDROOM:
Wilbourne Interior Design with Ankole, Edelman Leathers, Carl Hansen Furniture and Organic Looms
This rooms says “Take a nap on this luxurious bed,” and it was tempting! The layers of texture contributed to the relaxing, intimate space.
