Quality Design

The full-service interior design team at L INTERIORS (formerly Latham Interiors) based in Sun Valley, Idaho, is laser-focused on creating thoughtful, beautiful and innovative design. Read on to learn how their practice is constantly evolving.

Are there common themes that unite your work?

Our work is always customized to reflect our clients’ personalities and spaces. Our designs are limitless and focused on utilizing natural, elegant, quality materials and bespoke elements in order to provide quality, high-end designs each and every time. This season, in particular, we are gravitating toward patterns and textures in
earthy tones.

What is your favorite part of the design process?

By far, our favorite part is getting to see our clients’ amazement when they understand how we can elevate their spaces. So often interior design is misunderstood, and we’re learning that a lot of time “interior designers” are actually just decorators who don’t understand, develop or work with the architectural or construction plans and teams to design from ground up. Through a series of meetings with the architect, contractor and other team members, we work in collaboration with our clients to beautifully and efficiently achieve their goals.

We hear big things are on the horizon for your firm. Tell us more!

At the beginning of June we opened our new studio and couldn’t be more excited to share! With that, we are rebranding to a new name—L Interiors. Stay tuned!

Enduring Places

With a legacy spanning more than two decades, DE REUS ARCHITECTS is an award-winning architectural firm known for creating bespoke, enduring spaces. Their work fosters deep connections—between families, the natural world, and each other—nurturing a sense of belonging and stewardship.

What is the de Reus philosophy behind the “Art of Living,” and how do you define “Sanctuary”?

We believe architecture should frame living as an art form—revealing beauty through thoughtful, crafted spaces that heighten life’s sensory pleasures and forge deep connections to people and place. Home, to us, is a sanctuary where each moment can be fully savored, where time slows, and the outside world fades—inviting presence, belonging and a richer experience of life rooted in meaning
and tradition.

How do de Reus homes integrate with their environment and honor a location’s history?

Each project is a delicate dialogue between architecture and landscape, shaped by site conditions and rooted in natural materials. We also honor a site’s culture and heritage, using traditional methods to create spaces that live in harmony with their surroundings and add to the ongoing story of the place.

Tell us about your scope of work.

With studios in Sun Valley, Idaho, and Hawai’i, we are committed to enriching the communities we live in while attending to a global clientele of developers and private families. Our integrated suite of professional services includes architecture, interior architecture
and master planning for projects at multiple scales.

Experience Matters

With nearly 30 years in business, Paul Conrad, founder and president of CONRAD BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION, has witnessed the evolution of the industry through decades of ups and downs. Read on to learn the secret to his success.

In your opinion, what characteristics matter most to success in today’s market?

Perseverance and tenacity. You must be very dogged in your approach. Managing your team, the development of specifications for procurement and the cost control process are more demanding than ever before. As we like to say at Conrad Brothers, “smile with teeth.” We’ve got a job to do with a very challenging deliverable that today takes twice the effort.

Would you say there is an advantage to working with a builder who has a diversified portfolio?

In some markets, people may not think so, but from our perspective, we enjoy the diversified portfolio and security it provides. We have an amazing team that divides and conquers the commercial and high-end residential sectors very well. We believe it’s quite an advantage for our clients, as the commercial world operates at a very different pace and scope than residential.

That experience—being streamlined and able to move quickly—allows us to better respond to the reality that time is money. By pushing projects forward and shortening timelines, we can save clients money and help them realize their dreams faster, all while maintaining the high level of quality they expect
and deserve.

What is your outlook for the future of custom home building?

The outlook is positive. There are many passionate, well-resourced individuals eager to bring their dream homes to life—and few experiences are more rewarding than turning a vision into reality with a great team. While the world has its challenges, the resort communities we work in offer an appealing lifestyle, and at the core of that appeal are thoughtfully designed custom homes.

Destination Architecture

Nestled between the Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains on the shores of expansive Lake Pend Oreille, BODEN ARCHITECTURE has called Sandpoint, Idaho, home for 40+ years. Discover how their unique mountain lifestyle and personal values shape their approach to design.

We love your tagline, “We are mountain people.” Tell us more about what that means and how it translates to the work you do.

To us, mountain people are adventurous, determined, respectful, a little goofy and humbled by the landscapes they live and play in. Our team settled here intentionally for a lifestyle the mountains and lake afford. Living this lifestyle colors everything we do personally and professionally.

What sets Boden apart in the design world?

Boden is form and function, craft and timelessness. We listen to our clients to learn who they are and strive to exceed their expectations with architecture. Boden is altitude, not attitude, and we want our clients to enjoy the process as much as the outcome.

How do your designs reflect the mountain environments you work in?

Mountain landscapes are inspiring! We are honored to work in such beautiful settings. We are committed to respect, responsibility and thoughtful stewardship of the land. We use grand forms and spaces to create subtle cozy getaways for timeless shelter. Mountain architecture at Boden blends the landscape, sense of adventure and creative spirit. We create legacy architecture worthy of its destination. Oh, and it’s fun too!
