Whitefish Anticipates a New Boutique Hotel Designed by Olson Kundig
Larch House offers a fresh take on Alpine vacationing.
Whitefish, a resort town in northwest Montana, will soon welcome a new addition to the local hospitality landscape. Independently owned, the hotel is designed by Seattle-based Olson Kundig architects. The property feels spacious-yet-connected, and provides walkable access to downtown restaurants, coffee houses, and retail shopping. Its proximity to Whitefish Lake, Whitefish River, Whitefish Mountain Resort, and Glacier National Park places it amid spectacular natural beauty and opportunities for year-round recreation.
“This is truly a passion project designed to complement the existing, residential feel of the area surroundings,” says President of SHOP Companies, Daniel Fuller, the developer overseeing the property. “With ten buildings, and accommodations that include cabin suites, guest suites, and individual guest rooms, meticulous attention has been given to creating an intimate, private environment, and specialized amenities that offer the guest experiences discerning patrons are seeking.”
Both accommodations and amenities are created to cater to every guest preference. Guest cabins feature fireplaces, and guest suites and rooms provide unique floor plans, connecting rooms for families and groups, wide plank hardwood floors, walk-in showers, and direct access to the courtyard. The property is dog-friendly, and the rooftop space delivers spectacular, unobstructed views.
Fine dining will be a Larch House specialty. Guests will enjoy Enga, a full-service restaurant, a speakeasy vibe at The Antler Room, private dining in The Oak Room, and a spa, pool and dining experience on the hotel rooftop. Menu selections will celebrate the flavors of Montana. Ingredients will be sourced, whenever possible, from neighboring farms.
The hotel will showcase permanent art installations of larger-scale pieces, as well as a rotating display of work created by local artisans. Vintage Scandinavian furnishings round out the décor creating a pure expression of luxe Alpine comfort.
Larch House plans to partner with conveniently located local vendors, making everything readily available for guests to golf, bike, hike, fly fish, and ski and snowboard.
Serving as a perfect base camp, Larch House guests will savor the chance to kick-back after a day spent in the beautiful outdoors. A broad selection of libations and curated artisanal charcuterie boards and appetizers facilitate an immersive Mountain West experience that includes relaxation and time to unwind and prepare for a night on the town.
