Spectacular mountain views, floor-to-ceiling windows, multiple levels, generous square footage, privacy and outdoor living space, all on a half-acre lot that faces a busy road and backs up to open space. To honor these requests while also achieving the privacy this home’s owners required, KH Webb Architects focused on the structure’s relationship with the outdoors.

A courtyard concept, along with major landscaping additions, enhances privacy and makes outdoor living possible for much of the year.  The home’s bedrooms, living and dining areas all open onto the secluded courtyard, as well as beautiful mountain views. A home office, guest suite and storage garage are contained in the wing that faces the road.

To accommodate the site’s change in elevation, KH Webb Architects designed a series of gradual split-levels connected by half staircases that flow together fluidly. The beauty of the home’s exterior lies in both its forms and materials, which define the various elevations and sections. Contemporary, flat rooflines are punctuated by a shed roof that provides vaulted ceilings in the kitchen and living room, while on the façade, sleek metal is juxtaposed with limestone blocks and clear cedar siding.
