The Buffalo Collection at Scenic Mesa

The Buffalo Collection at Scenic Mesa specializes in furniture upholstered with American buffalo leather. The collection was born of necessity. To furnish the guest lodges at the Scenic Mesa Ranch in Hotchkiss, Colorado, we tanned green hide byproducts from our buffalo meat business and used the leather to upholster furniture. It withstood wear and tear from hunters, cowboys and dogs, and its exceptional comfort was appreciated by bone-weary sportsmen, who began asking if they could buy pieces for their own homes. A business began.

Our first line was The Ranch Collection, high-end furniture scaled for large mountain homes. In 2007, we added braid and appliqué decorations, all handmade by Colorado artisans. Our latest addition is the new Colorado line, scaled and priced for families and standard homes.  

American buffalo leather offers a unique quality and durability. It contains widely spaced, extra-large collagen fibers, making it strong and flexible, and buttery soft to the touch.

We are proud to include Hancock & Moore among our furniture manufacturers. Their hardwood frames, hand-tied springs and upholstering perfection combine with our fine leather to create heirloom-quality furniture.
