Every month, Mountain Living celebrates the joys of living in or traveling to the high country of the Rocky Mountain West. In order to preserve this joy for future generations, Mountain Living would like to recognize the importance of responsible development in mountain areas.Mountain Living annually awards top achievers in responsible, sustainable development in the categories of Residential, Community Development and Tourism. Awards will be based on specified criteria pertaining to protection of natural assets, inclusion of historic architecture, cultural heritage, wildlife preservation and natural beauty. Award winners will be featured in Mountain Living's March/April 2010 issue. All entries will also be reviewed for editorial leads and possible inclusion in future Mountain Living issues. Contest RulesEntry is open to any organization or individual whose primary work is concentrated among the states of the Rocky Mountain West. Entries may be submitted by individuals or organizations associated with architects, builders, developers, land planners, tourism managers or local/state governments.Award winners must be available to a Mountain Living photographer for one full day and must be available to be interviewed by a Mountain Living writer or editor.
