With an active family life, the owners had one priority when it came time to envision their mountain retreat: fun-filled mountain gatherings with loved ones.
Nestled in Aspen, Colorado, with a stunning view of famed Aspen Mountain, their resulting mountain-modern home is the perfect spot for quality time with family and friends—with impeccable style, to boot. In fact, the home was recently dubbed a 2019 Colorado Care Award winner and a 2019 Gold Nugget Award winner for its exquisite design.
The home boasts 10 bedrooms (including the king of bunk rooms) and sleeps 28, with entertaining spaces to support such a crowd: a lavish great room, bar, kitchen, family room, and formal dining room on the upper level, and a theater, bar, and gym on the lower level. For smaller-scale quality time, such as intimate conversation and quiet reflection, numerous cozy niches are carved throughout the abode’s 14,000 square feet.
With materials, textures, and a color palette that are reflective of the natural surroundings throughout the four seasons, the home feels instinctively grounded to its mountainside site. Outside, the landscape was designed in defined zones for the hot tub, pool, fire pit, and outdoor living and dining areas. Unobstructed views are captured from every room in the house, with a heavy focus on maximizing the indoor-outdoor connection, as well this family’s entertaining lifestyle—a wonderfully luxurious yet approachable and superbly edited mountain home.
